This is Hobbes' favorite time of year--warm time, anytime the kitty door is accessible and free to swing his orangey bod out into the yard at his whim.
And if you step out the door to look for him--he plops down on his side and rolls on the ground to entice you onto the thick green lawn for a little kitty time. Dare you ask "Where's the kitty?" and you'll hear his little "mew" from behind a grass or around the corner.
He's never far--but he is always in heaven out in the yard. I like this time of year too.

I think Hobbes has a keen sense of how good his orange furs look next to the green grass!
Handsome. Handsome. Handsome.
Never would've thought orange would become my favorite color. He reminds us what is good in life.
That may be the greatest kitty pose yet!
Good looking boy, is Hobbes.
Sherpa wants out too but with that eagle in the tree I don't dare.
Sherpa is not an appetizer!
The Diva, the dogs and I spent time in our back yard yesterday!! The deck is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots to relax in the sun!!
:-) ... So do you have to tell him when the kitty door is accessible or does he just know?
Doesn't that look delicious? Lounging on a luxurious carpet that offsets that perfect yellow coat. Ah, life is good!
He looks so happy! I am glad that he is enjoying the beautiful spring! Our cats can't go outside. There are too many prey birds. My kitties are not prey.
Honetly, thats the picture of contentment. Makes me just go sigh to look at it...
and OMG - Guess what my captcha was for this hobbes comment Lin?
It was so amazing I actually copied and pasted it, sent the image to flickr and kept it... heres the link

and no I didn't make this up...thats what I had to type to make this comment.
Hobbes is just so handsome lounging in the grass! Love his dark orange stripes around his chest and also on his face beginning at his gorgeous eyes!
Hobbes looks like he's got his own little piece of heaven right there in his own back yard. The cat I used to have would stick in the yard for a while but always ended up roaming off. Sadly one day he just never came back
Your grass makes me drool with green envy. Wow.
Hobbes is totally cool. My cats make all sorts of trouble in the neighborhood, plus they invite their pals to come on over and create a ruckus (usually around 3am).
Daisy--And next to the purple draperies, and the yellow flowers, and the......
DG--Don't ya just wanna smooch him?
Helene--Me neither, although my aunt swears by orange cats--she says they are the best. I believe her now. :)
Vanilla--This is Hobbes almost every day. He waits for someone to come out into the yard with him.
Grace--It's the grass, Grace. You really do need some grass. :)
Pricilla--I don't blame you! I'll bet he'll be very happy in the new yurt.
Jo--What ever happened to your frog??
Petula--Oh, they know! They wait for me to open the door so they can come and go at free will. It's funny how that wee bit of control makes their day!
Chuck--Hobbes has the life. Nothing like the freedom of a cat door and cool, green grass at your disposal.
I LOVE the cool air and warm sun. Just energizes me! Those hot days to come are not my friends.
Anne--Oh, Pricilla has that too. :( Bummer. Oh well, I'd rather they be safe.
Tracy--Oh COOL! It's like a secret message!! And yes, YES! YOU ARE!!! And I'm blessed to have you as a pally. :)
Beaded Tail--I love kitties. ALL of them and their little noses. :)
Ann--Oh no! That is sad. :( I only let Hobbes out when we are home and available to check on him all the time. Sometimes he wanders off into the neighbors yard, but he is never far--he may miss somebody coming out to pet him!
Rebecca--Hobbes is inside more than out, so he doesn't have the opportunity to have friends over. Which is good because I hate that screamy noise they make when they get together.
Sharky--I'm with you--I don't like the heat. And I like when the yard is green and blooming without me having to water it.
Stripey Goodness indeed! Just can't get enough of that beautiful boy on Thursdays! Sweet!
xo Catherine
Of course Hobbes would never run away. He's got good food, grass, birds and a pond! He knows he has it better than 99% of the other cats out there. Come to think of it, even I don't have a pond! And no, our new Drinkwell water fountain does NOT count...
Catherine--And to think I was trying to figure out why the visitor count is off the roof on Thursdays!
Sparkle--There is something about drinking out of the top of the waterfall for those kitties. Maybe it is fish-flavored. :)
That's a great shot of Hobbes. :) He really is a smart kitty, knowing where he has it good.
