Sorry for my absence this week, I was busy with the band. You see, they had a gig in a wee parade down Main Street....

Oh, look! It's the Marching Astros! And it's not even marching season! Gasp!

There goes, Em!

And Colin--it's his very last performance with the Marching Astros. Yes, I cried.
Did you have to ask?

No, it wasn't Main Street in Weirdville--we don't have a castle like that....
but DISNEY does!!
So, yes, while the blog and comments sat idle for the week, Joe and I traveled to Disney to be with the Marching Astros. And what fun we had!
More on that later.....I'm going to soak my feet.

Well, lah-de-dah - Look at y'all!
I recognized that Main Street right away! Congratulations to Colin and Em for being invited to play for Mickey!
How exciting.
Did you hug Tigger?
I love Tigger!
I am so glad you had fun!! I look forward to hearing all about your crazy (just sayin') adventures!!
Wow! What an honor and a great get-away...enjoy the foot soak :)
Oh, how exciting! That's not a gig just anyone can get. You must have been beaming!
Pricilla -- I love Tigger too! In fact, I'm drinking coffee out of my fun and gigantic Tigger mug right this minute.
No apology necessary. Sometimes living life is more important.
Way to go Astros!
Oh what fun. My daughter went to Disney with her school's marching band. I didn't get to go. NO FAIR, I want to see Disney too
No, I didn't have to ask. Yet, that must have been a lot fun.
That is so awesome!
HAHA! Before I scrolled all the way down I was all "where does she live?!?
Grace--We were so darn excited! I was bustin' to tell you all, but you know, you can't go telling the internet you were going on vacation. I brought you all souvenirs!
Beaded Tail--Oh, it was such a thrill!! We were soooo proud! But it happened so fast. :(
Pricilla--We did see Tigger, but we left the line for the little ones. Darn kids. I do have a photo for you, though.
Jo--You can't go to Disney and NOT have adventures! It was a blast!!
Roschelle--Mickey kicked my butt. Every single inch of me is sore!
Kathy--It was a big deal to get the night parade and we were soooo excited to see them perform there. Yes, we saw Tigger, but there were too many kids who wanted to see him too, so we just took them from far away. :( Darn kids.
Vanilla--You are right, I have been leaving the blog a bit more this summer to enjoy it. It's a good thing. It was nice to take a vacation too and Disney of all places!
Ann--Oh, how cool she did that too! It was very cool to see them march in the parade. We stayed with some very generous friends, otherwise we would not have been able to go either.
Chuck--We are dead today! Every single inch of my body has been pounded by the Mouse. Great trip--everyone is exhausted. :)
DG--It was something to see! We had a great/exhausting trip. It's good to be home. Souvenirs for everyone!!
Fun!
Now go ride some rides. :-)
WOW! Congrats to Colin and Em! How awesome!
Glad you're having so much fun.
Happy Saturday!
Gotta love a Band Mom!!
Oh my gosh, I was going to say "Holy cow, your town sure does it up for a band parade!!" But then I read the bottom paragraph about Disney World. LOL.
Sounds like all of you had fun except your feet. :) Did you meet Goofy? I love Goofy. (wonder why, lol).
My bosses go to Disney alllllllll the time. In fact I have a picture of Mickey Mouse behind my work desk. And over the copy machine. And dining room/conference room, and basement and...
I knew that nice Main St meant you weren't in Kansas anymore :-) I was ready to move to your part of Chicago :-)
Just when you think you'll stop crying, the grandbabies come along and it begins again.
Was this Disneyland or Disney World?
I LOVE Disneyland and in fact, worked there as one of my very first jobs as a teen. It still feels magical whenever I go.
Glad you all had fun. What an honor to be able to march and play on Main Street.
The smells on Main Street...popcorn, candy...yum!
Totally jealous! How fun!
peewee--Does ANY town look like that?? I mean, other than Disney. :)
Jodi--Ride we did! We had a great time, but the Mouse kicked my butt. I have a very sore body today. Ugh.
Veronica--It was so exciting to see them perform in Disney. We applied and were chosen for the night parade.
Betty--I embrace my dorkiness, believe me! Who is dorkier than a Band Mom???
Rebecca--Yeah, Weirdville would never look so good! We saw Goofy, but alas, I didn't stand in line with all the 5 year olds to meet him. It was toooo hot.
Helene--Disney is great fun, but I'm not sure I could do this year after year--my body couldn't take it! It is a wonderful trip though, I see why people go back every year.
Chocolate--It was Disneyworld in Florida. Hot, sticky, Florida. But it was still lovely and there really is no other place like it! It was magical to see the kids down Main Street!
Storm--That is why I didn't write about it before I left--I didn't want anyone to be jealous. ;)
It sounds like you had a great time. Yea Col and Em! I am thrilled they were able to play for the mouse.
I am soooooo glad you had a great time..... I love the pix.. and what is better than going to the happiest place on earth??/ Hugs!!!!
Congratulations to the whole family. What an honor and what memories for everyone. We will all wait for the whole story.
Merry--Oh, it was nice to have that treat at the end of Col's Senior year. I really enjoyed having them both in band together this year. Sigh. I guess it is really over. :(
Natalee--Disney can't be beat for fun. Gees, they've got everything mastered and you don't have to do but sit back and have fun.
Highway--We are pooped! I feel like a giant mouse ran me over. :)
Sounds like FUN!
How totally awesome!!! I saw the first couple of pictures and my first thought was wow, your town looks a lot like Disney World.
You cried when you soaked your feet?
Awesome parade :)
Split Rock--Oh, it was! Disney is such a blast and then add the Marching Astros.....!
Anne--Weirdville is very far from DisneyWorld in many, many ways. Although we do have LOTS of characters. ;)
V7--Oh, I cried taking my shoes off, I cried soaking my feet, I cried putting my shoes back on.....and now I'm crying more having to go back to work! Ugh.
Super fun! I'm glad you guys had fun. I'm sure the kids did!
