I sat down at the computer last night to catch up on blog reading and to write a fabulously entertaining post for today, but then I sat on the couch for a minute...and turned on the TV. Mis. Take.
I love when I spot one of my favorite all-time movies in the mere first two seconds that it starts on TV. I get all happy and then I yell to whoever is home that my favorite movie is on and I get really, really excited. And then the night is lost to me getting all goofy over my favorite movie. The family just counts themselves lucky if it's not a musical...for obvious reasons.
So, that is my excuse for posting this. If I could play the piano, this would be a perfect imitation of me. Seriously. I cry every single time I watch "The Way We Were". Really. Real tears and all.
It's those three words that get me.....
"See ya, Hubbell"
*sniff*
(I'm not even gonna mention that "Funny Girl" followed immediately. I was happier than a pig in poop.)

Don't you love it when the ol' favourites are on TV? Yup, any excuse for a couch night is a good excuse. ;)
xo Catherine
That lady is so funny. Glad you to watch your movie. That is fun to do. Take care.
Yeah, I cried so hard after the fourth time...
Can't see any flaws in your evening!
I have to wait until the end of my favorite movie to hear the line, "This look like the beginning of a beautiful friendship."
That's right. It was Barbra Streisand's birthday yesterday
I loved Gilda...miss her:(
It's so awesome when you land on something you love just as it starts. There are so many movies that I have put on halfway through but from the start is so much better.
Loved Gilda. Reminds me of the good old days when Saturday Night Live was worth watching
Catherine--It was Barb's birthday, hence the back-to-back movies. Aw, it was hog heaven!
Marg--Why is it so darn exciting when you catch one of your favorite movies on TV? I'm so easily amused, aren't I? ;)
Vanilla--I LOVE that! I'm pretty much like Lisa Lubner---'cept I can't play the piano.
Chuck--Casablanca?? That's gonna be on TCM one of these days--although I can't remember when. Look it up!
Patty--Yep! Oh, you are so smart! That's why they had the back-to-back Babs Fest going on! She's 70.
Mary Ann--ME TOO! Damn, she was good, wasn't she? If you get a chance, read her book about her battle with cancer. It's a great book. Gene Wilder was very, very good to her.
Anne--It's funny how excited I get when one of those old movies is on TV. I'm very easily entertained--which is probably a good thing. :)
Ann--ME TOO! This video just makes me love her more. Damn, she was good, wasn't she?
A pig in poop?! lol... I'm glad you enjoyed. I can relate 'cause I too am a crazy woman if I catch a movie I love coming on. It's a disease, I'm sure. The "can't pull self away from boob tube movie display" syndrome. *nodding*
:-D
I used to catch the beginning of The Way We Were all the time, but never actually watched the whole thing. Finally got a chance to watch it and since then, I've never seen it on television again.
That happens to me with "Thanks for the Memories."
