Such happy in a wee bag 'o water
A few weeks ago, Emma took part in Operation Snowball, which is a motivational retreat that encompasses a weekend. Teens meet with other teens and counselors and it's all about acceptance and kindness and not doing drugs and such. It focuses on building self-esteem and feeling good.
During the course of those few days, the participants were encouraged to write nice things about the people they encountered along the way. Those little slips of paper were then put into a bag with your name on it, to be picked up before you left. The idea was that when you were struggling, you had this "Bag of Good Feelings" to dig through and you had a nice reminder that you were a good person and someone likes you.
I had two thoughts on the "Bag of Good Feelings":
1) I need one of those bags....and a BIG bag at that.
2) I just kept inserting that term into this song -- which I find hilarious...and nobody else does.
I sorta got my own Bag of Good Feelings yesterday--but mine didn't include nice thoughts about Lin--mine had 4 very tubby tadpoles who were already sproutin' some mean froggie thighs.
Hog heaven, I tell you. Hog. Heaven.
I took each one of those soft little guys out, gave him a grand hello and set them free into the pond to enjoy the warm sunshine, a wee bit of space, and some snappy lily pads to sit on...once they grow arms, that is.
Oh, it takes so very little to make me happy. But happy I am--in the promise of some new froglets and some new life back in the pond.

Hog Heaven or 'Hop' Heaven. LOL! Bawhahaha! I'm hilarious!
I am thinking your family must have a really easy time buying you gifts if simple tadpoles make you happy. ;)
Have a super weekend Lin!
xo Catherine
Oh joy! Oh bliss! Oh amphib wonder! Welcome to Lin's Weirdville World. Stick around and enjoy the show. :-)
Goodie for you! Glad to see new tads in the pond!!
Yay - Lin has froglets...
Those tadpoles are worth a sack of good comments! So great to have some life back in the pond, and some new little guys for you to care for. Happy weekend!
Congrats on the new tadpoles. I love the idea of a bag of good feelings. I could definitely use one of those. Maybe Flo Rida could market it.
Oh man, how cooL!
One who cares so for the froggies just naturally has to feel good about herself!
Enjoy the growing-up days. Soon they will be singing you to sleep.
Wow, them suckers is huge!
Glad you are happy with your new critters. It truly is the little things that count. :)
Uhm, isn't that FROG heaven - for both you and them?
Those are big tadpoles! Hope those frogs stay home when they get big! Emma's project sounds like something we could all use from time to time!
It is very fascinating to see them in that strange stage between tadpole and frog!
Check out those little froggy legs. very cool Lin
Catherine--Well...if they could just figure out how to make the bigger frogs stay. THEN I'd really be happy!Yeah, I guess I'm easy to make happy.
Chuck--AND we may not have to wait until July for froglets with the size of THOSE legs! Hooray!
Diane--I am very excited to have frogs again. :)
Grace--Not yet, Grace. They are froglets only when they have arms and start breathing air.
Hot Rocks--It's the promise of summer--something to watch grow and change. I love the transformation to frogs. :)
Anne--I think we should do a group "Post of Good Feelings" where our blog friends leave us happy notes in which to refer to on bad days. Wouldn't that be nice?
Nancy--I'm so easily amused. :)
Vanilla--Well, not always. Hey--keep your fingers crossed that there is a male in the bunch. They are the singers.
Rebecca--They are bullfrog taddies. We don't mess around with the little frogs around here! Hahaha!
Patty--Well, apparently NOT for THEM...because they all LEAVE! Not that I'm miffed about that or anything. ;)
Beaded Tail--They are bullfrog taddies. Aren't they lovely? Yeah, I think we all need Operation Snowball and one of those bags!
Daisy--I used to raise Monarch butterflies before I raised frogs. Talk about transformation! WOW! My favorite part with the frogs is when they sprout arms. You don't see them coming. One day no arms...the next...ARMS! Very cool.
Ann--Two of those taddies had some THIGHS! I imagine they will be froglets in a couple of weeks. Hooray!
Hi Lin!
Your post made me smile! I believe somewhere, out there in the big mean world, your froggy pals are clicking their froggy heels and repeating, "There's no place like Lin's pond. There's no place like Lin's pond."
Sigh. It makes me wish I could be there for the big summer frog reunion.

That is a bag of happy! Hopefully the tadpoles enjoy the pond.
red dirt girl--You know, the BEST outcome would be for those frogs to make it to the creeks just blocks away in either direction of our pond. My dream is for them to make it there and for them to "go forth and multiply". I would love to think that my frogs are making new frogs for this good green earth. I think I would like that better than if they came back. Oh--and those big frogs could possible eat those taddies or froglets too. :(
Silver--I know they are! They are already sunning themselves in the shallows. I'm sure that is probably the first time they have had sunshine on their backs.
What a strange stage of development. Some new alien species! The things that make up happy are never little. But some of them cost less than others!
