Grab the Kleenex...

It's with great sadness, and much boo-hooing here at the Duck and Wheel, that we report that our theme song guy has passed. We honor him with yet another appearance here--including the words so you can sing along!

*sniff*

Gees, I love that song, don't you? Don't worry, he'll live on here and in your memories for a long time to come.  You can thank me for that.

On another note, for the first time in 4 years of blogging, I'm actually going on vacation this week. Really. I'm turning off the computer while I'm in New York and I'm not posting ahead or nuthin'.  I'm feeling frazzled after a crazy month of May and I just feel empty.  Even my mom told me that she's noticed a lot of cat photos on the blog lately.  Sheesh.

So, I'm hoping to get around my blogroll before I leave and then enjoy a couple of days just tooling around the Big Apple with, oh....100 of my closest teenage friends for the remainder of the week. Sounds relaxing, doesn't it?  Yeah/no.  Kill me now.

And while I'm killing myself in NYC, it's good to know that the boys will be holding down the fort here. Why do I think there's gonna be a whole lot of nuthin' going on here?  Well, nothing productive, anyway. Hobbes is already setting the pace...

OH MY GOSH.

I had not watched the video before (although it seems to ring a memory, like I'd seen it on Lawrence Welk?!

Anyway, about 15 seconds into the video, I've had enough. I click the little "pause" button, but the VIDEO WOULD NOT STOP. I clicked "play" then "pause, again and again. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

He's Russian, eh? The Commies must have been pointing their machine guns at him to make him smile the entire time. No human could possibly smile that long unless a gun is in the orchestra pit.

Ok, so when I first saw the photo of Hobbes and the title of the post in my blog roll I thought something had happened to Hobbes!!! Then I clicked on the video and laughed until I cried!

So glad they put the lyrics up there for me :D

Have fun in NY and enjoy your well deserved break!

Oh no you don't! I'll not click on that link. I'm really sorry for your loss, but not to the point of listening to that.

Keep the kitty pix coming. We love 'em!

Have fun in NYC and be sure to take your camera and note pad.

Wow, a real vacation getaway, good for you! I haven't had one of those since our honeymoon back in 2007! By the way, tell your mom I said you can never have enough cat pictures. I'm a huge fan of Hobbes and Gracie.

Helene--Hold down the fort for me, Helene!

Diane--I LOVE NYC! But this is a very different trip because we are chaperoning a cabillion band kids. I hope I survive. (I like his "plastic" hair)

Catherine--No crazy in NY--I am a chaperone. :( Crazy was the trip to NY before this one. :)

Vanilla--IF I survive.

Rebecca--Oh, you missed all the best parts. It's hard to believe but it gets better (worse?) as it goes on. It's actually an American song that he removed the words because he thought it would be banned in the Soviet for being "too American."

Veronica Lee--I'm following your lead, pally! ;)

Rebecca--I just hope I survive all those teens!

Jen--Oops, I'm sorry I scared you for a second! :( Nah, everyone is good here....just going on a band trip.

Hot Rocks--Oh, I'm sure it's going to be crazy with all those kids. I doubt this will be a "break!" Yikes!

Grace--We are going to see Phantom, Grace. That show never gets old!

Helene--The pallies are great, aren't they?

Chuck--Almost forgot the notepad--gotta have that! Camera is packed, although it is just the point and shoot. Go ahead, Chuck. Click just once!

Bumblevee--I know. There is a part of me that wishes I was the one staying home in the quiet. Yeah, it is going to be madness. It will be non-stop. Ugh.

Nancy--I'm finding that I just don't have anything to write about when I'm so pooped. I hope this sparks me a bit.

Beaded Tail--I'm sorry!! But he's sorta like family, isn't he??? ;)

Ann--ANN! SHAME ON YOU! We LOVE him....don't we??? You can at least say that you have been listening to him for years. ;)

Liz--I need to shut down and not feel guilty about it. That's the hard part.

Karen--I just hope I survive! I waiting for the relaxing part when I get to Will Oaks Campground! :)

Karen--We usually go away each year, but I blog while I'm on vacation, believe it or not. This time I am shutting it down. I think I have to for sanity's sake.

Grace--WOW! That is something that he gained such notoriety in the end. Kind of cool, eh?
