| The Kautz Boys |
Joe comes from a large family--he is one of 5 kids--4 boys and 1 girl. Now that everyone is married and has children and grandchildren, the family get-togethers are sorta crazy. And those boys are still that....boys. I don't care how you dress them up, they can still revert back to those wild "brother days" all too easily while we sit back and roll our eyes.
But silliness aside, it is nice to see them together and having such a good time. Joe's mom and dad thoroughly enjoy these times--even if all the rowdiness is a tad too loud. I don't know how that woman survived all 4 boys sharing a bedroom all those years ago. I shudder to imagine.
The thing that amazes me most is the "out-laws"--you know, the spouses of each family member. I'm not sure how often this happens in families, but we get along amazingly well. The non-Kautz members just somehow all fit in and get along, laughing and comparing notes of how to live with them. My sisters-in-law are hilarious and we just have a hoot when we are together. I guess we are lucky to have such a rapport--or we are just clinging to each other in support.
The photo includes the brothers, some of their sons and a grandson. There are more elsewhere, but time and distance isn't always conducive for a family reunion--we just sort of do what we can to get everyone together. And the fun begins...

Coming from a very small family, it's hard to imagine having that many relatives in one photo! Haha!

How fun that must be! Love the photo, Lin.
Fun times. Great that you can get them all together.
It must be fun to have such a great family...
I would love to have a big family like that. I can't imagine raising 5 kids. It must have been quite a challenge for Joe's mom.
How nice for them to be able to see each other. I haven't seen my brothers - three of 'em - in about 4 years now. It's a great photo
Yikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's a pretty goodlooking line-up! Were all the white shirts part of the plan?
Something tells me Lin that you would fit in well in any family :)
Wow...that's so nice that the whole big family was able to gather! And it's great that you all get along famously too!
Catherine--Oh, this is nuthin'! There are a ton of Kautzes! I'm typically overwhelmed when we all get together for weddings and such.
Veronica Lee--It was a nice time and usually is. It's amazing how well everyone gets along.
Vanilla--I know Joe's mom and dad were very happy to have the group together. There were people missing, but I don't think you can ever have everyone there anymore.
Grace--Yeah, it's loud and fun...and a bit overwhelming, but we like it. We don't go in too much because of our schedules, but when we do, it's a blast.
Anne--Can you imagine 4 boys???! In one bedroom??! Oh, that woman is a saint, I tell you. I have 2 kids--that is all I could handle.
Helene--NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Helene, I'm bummin!
DJ--Nope. Everyone just had suits on for the wedding, so the white shirts were natural. They are all very good looking guys, I have to say.
Ann--Well, I take some getting used to. ;)
Nancy--Maybe it is because there were a lot of kids in the immediate family, but everyone gets along so nicely. The boys are hilarious--they are like big kids!
I didn't have any brothers growing up so I can't imagine how much fun they must've had together. It's great that they can all infect their kids and their kids kids into having the time of their lives. You are truly blessed that the in-laws are also the best of friends.
Lovely family you have. I've been visiting family too. It's a wonder how well everyone gets along. I don't remember it being that way when they lived at home. (smile)
Wow what a great picture and it sure sounds like a fun family. It is so nice to hear about families that get along so well. There really are some nice people in the world. Love this story.
I see what you mean. The white shirts and ties seem sort of pasted on.
