After Christmas, we both realized that we are on the home stretch--Em will be done with her Senior Year in a blink of an eye.
It's January and plans are already being shored up for prom....in May. And yes, my wallet will be a tad lighter after that highly anticipated visit to Peaches, THE Disneyland of Prom Dress Stores. Sigh. I dread to think.
Em was accepted to her two college choices, both with lovely scholarships attached. She has picked her #1 college choice, Loyola University, and now we are on the whirlwind of completing additional scholarship applications. College does not come cheap these days--especially private colleges on the north shore of Lake Michigan. She worked hard to get into that college, so we will make it work...somehow.
It's amazing how these four years of high school have flown and I know all too well how fast these next 4 months will go as well. January is nearly over and graduation is quickly coming--heck, she was measured for her cap and gown today. I'm trying to hold on, for it's a whirlwind at the clock ticks down.
Goodbye High School. Goodbye bustling house. Goodbye money.

Wow...congrats to her on getting accepted and on the scholarships. Good luck with the rest of the process. Will she be far from home? Enjoy the rest of her senior year and make lots of memories.

Congrats on the the scholarships and first picks! At least she won't be too far from home!
So quickly the time flies.
Congrats on acceptance and scholarship to 1st choice.
How lovely for Em. You must be busting your buttons with pride even though you will have to mortgage the farm, so to speak, to pay for her school of choice. But wait? Did you say prom? OOOH, can't wait to see those photos in May!
But Lin.... big congratulations on her becoming such a hardworking ...not to mention beautiful ...young lady..... and wanting to continue with a worthwhile education...good for her ...and good on you and Joe for making it happen for your kids.....

Good bye to those things and hello to your grown up girl. You have ahead of you not only poverty, but also the pleasure of watching your child become a grown up.
What a lovely young lady. They do have to grow up unfortunately. A lot of good byes going on in your house. How sad. But just think of the good times when she comes home for a visit. And congrats to her for being accepted to the college of her choice. That is great. Take care.
Big congrats to Em on being accepted to Loyola, good for her! :) By the way, she is a beautiful young lady.
Yep, these next four months will fly by so fast you won't know where they went. You'll have to go back and read your blog to see what happened!
Congrats to the Kautz family! Time does fly!
Congratulations all around. I'm right behind you. We won't hear until March if my daughter makes it into her number 1 choice. It is going by so quickly .... which makes me hug my 12 year old a little bit tighter!
Oh FAFSA here we come ...
