Monday Morning Random

This is what I'm thinking about today:

I think you should be able to punch people when they say stupid stuff.  I just think that people would think twice before opening their yappers, you know?  That said, I think I personally would be black and blue in the first hour that this is allowed, so maybe it isn't such a great idea after all--but, I like the concept.

You know what? I like the employees at our Walmart. There. I said it.  I do like them. Really. I have found them to be helpful, funny, and friendly.  Sometimes, I have to engage them first, but for the most part, I have never been let down by these people.  It's worth commenting on. Seriously. They are great.  Maybe I don't expect anything and have been pleasantly surprised? I dunno. Either way, I find them much more helpful and kind than the other chains like Target. Isn't that weird?

I have found a new love....Guinness beer in my reindeer glass.  I really must get a photo of that darn thing..because I can't bear to put it away.  Reindeer are "winter", aren't they? Not just Christmas? And the Guinness--I'm hooked.  I've even managed to sway Joe away from his My Pretty Pony Pale Ales over to the dark side--literally and figuratively.

I've noticed everyone is a tad "blue" on the internet this week.  It's either too much snow, not enough snow, too cold, too hot, too gloomy, too this...too that.  Either way, folks are down.  I think we need to do something to make it better---maybe a DorkFest or something.  Hmmmm....I think the HR in me is coming out.....hold on for details.

Hobbes is a cuddle monster these days.  I'm not sure what's with the homeboy, but you can't sit down for 5 minutes without his slobbery face and stinky hiney on your lap.  While it's wonderful to cuddle with the big guy, it's sort of disconcerting the amount of fur that he leaves on your clothes when he leaves.  This is causing major amounts of laundry for me, but I guess it's worth it for the love, right?  RIGHT?  sigh.  I keep trying to convince myself of this.

My car is fixed.  I sent my thank-you and a gift card to the witness this week, I received an apology phone call from the guy who hit us, AND the car has been repaired already.  I guess other than being inconvenienced, it all turned out okay.

Hey, life is good. Happy Monday.

LOL over Walmart. Believe it or not, I have a favorite Walmart checker. She is awesome. She's super fast and always nice. once I told her she was my favorite and she said she hears it all the time - that she even has one customer who will only shop when she's working, and gets mad if she takes vacation. LOL!

Thanks for my Hobbes fix. I need that you know.

Monday Punchout! You might up black and blue, I'd probably end up in Intensive Care. Yeah, some days I'm like that.

I think it's called seasonal affective disorder (SAD), also known as winter depression, winter blues. Fortunately our corner office has two large window that capture a lot of light, which really helps.

That was very thoughtful of you to send a thank you card and gift to the witness. You're good people, Lin. That's probably why employees are good employees around you. You bring it out in people!

Fur is a small price to pay to be able to cuddle with Hobbes! We're all jealous of you! That was nice of you to send a thank you and gift card to the witness!

I'm all for punching out stupid heads... on a regular basis. You're right ...maybe they start thinking before they opened their big mouths....
And, may I say ..i tis not SADS or Christmas letdown or anything like for me ...I feel like that all the time! Idiots make me crazy... especially if I am spending hard earned cash.
Our Walmarties are lazy, disinterested, zombie -like and about as responsive as a potato if I try to "engage" them in any sort of conversation at all. As a matter of fact they usually just ignore that and pretend I am not actually standing there conducting some transaction... or if they under 20 ..roll their eyes skyward and sigh...... I'd like to punch them too...just to wake them up to some form of reality.

Actually, I'd love a gun, but my husband says I'd always be out of bullets. Well, that and in Canada we are "not allowed" ... yeh...they treat us like little tykes and we are not allowed to do several things that I want to do. Like buy guns.

Oh, yes, there are laws against a & b for a reason.

The car is fixed, the witness is thanked, the culprit has repented. Things are good in your world! I'll try to chirk up a bit now.

One of my cats loves to cuddle, the other...not so much. Usually love it except when he decides that my sleep time is cuddle time and he won't rest until I'm fully engaged.

Lisa--Oh, it's good to hear you have a good Walmart employee too! Must be a good manager at ours...we have many good employees.

Grace--I need to take some new photos. I have stories, but no photos to go along with them. That sometimes pauses me.

Chuck--I don't think I'm down...I just notice everyone else is. I'm just sort of in neutral these days.

Liz--I was so thankful for that witness--he saved us $500! I couldn't have passed that up to thank him. I'm not so sure the other employees are all that happy with me. We have some idiots too, you know?

Patty--Ooooh, I think I need to come overwinter with you!

Beaded Tail--Oh, there is nothing like a lovey Hobbes! Boy, he's so cuddly these days!! I really wanted to thank that witness for taking the time out to report the accident. It would have cost us $500!

BumbleVee--I think if we could punch stupid people, we'd be really, really busy, Vee. I think we'd better keep our hands in our pockets!!

Vanilla--Yeah, I can't be down after all that good, right?! Now if it would only snow....

Debbie--Oh, no--my Walmart is pretty good. Sure there are weirdos, but the people there are really nice and helpful. Who would have thought??

Ann--Yeah, isn't that weird that he called?! I was really surprised. He offered to pay for the damage, but it was already processed through his insurance. All's well that ends well. :)

Silver--neither of my cats likes to cuddle. :( Hobbes has to be in just the right mood...and he has been lately. But 18 pounds of orange love is CRAZY! He's heavy!!

Pretty much all of our Wal-Mart employees are nice and helpful. I'm pretty sure they are the largest employer in our little town.
Maybe Hobbes just wants to cuddle because he is cold! ;)

I have a friend who drinks no beer but Guinness. I don't find our Wal-Mart a place I like to go. Glad you car is fixed, and a lovey cat is worth the fur. (Except I prefer dogs)

You should feel honored Hobbes likes sitting on your lap. I found a good fur remover to use on my clothes and furniture--I got it from a TV ad and it really works great!
