You all warned me. I didn't listen.
Nope.
And now, this is my cat....and.....well....uh....me, too, watching birdie videos on a Saturday night. This is what my life has become. I shudder to think of what will be when Em goes off to college if this is what I'm doing for entertainment now.
Sigh.
And the really scary part? (Yes, it gets worse.) I actually get excited when that blackbird pops into the screen shot. Yep. I yell "There's the blackbird!" and Grace swats at it. We are quite the team, she and I.
Pathetic and boring.....
but happy.

In my opinion, boring is underrated. There is nothing wrong with it, in fact it can be [very] comfortable.
Um, there is a reason why they all flock together...
Too funny :)
Oh that looks like a good one I missed somewhere along the line. I have about 6 birdie videos bookmarked for Miss Frankie - as a matter of fact she is sitting on the desk right now waiting patiently for her turn at the computer - so what is the link for that video, she needs a few new videos...
Oh, and isn't funny that the 'boys' don't care about the birdie videos?
Coming soon to a china cabinet near you.

Did you ever wonder if you were a cat in a past life?
Who said life had to consist of endless frenetic activity?
Hey, so long as you're happy!
LOL...I love it! But, then again, I love bird videos too. I may not be able to give you an objective opinion!
It is something else when the kids are all finally gone. It's great at first. Wow, no piles of laundry and plenty of time to read and have go to the bathroom without someone yelling for you.
Then it starts. The..."What do I do today with myself"? You know...you blog!
We make great bloggers! We have plenty of time!:-)
You could be playing lumosity with me..... how 'bout penguin pursuit? ... they don't even look like penguins either..... I think I'll look for a birdie video....they look like fun....but, darn it I have no cat to play with... or entertain me...... I think I need to upload my Silkroad game so I can kill something...
OK, but I had a friend in town over the weekend and this is what we did for a good hour of our time on Saturday night too. (she's a cat lover too, but still). And THEN we found this parakeet who beat boxes and we just kept on and on watching bird videos because WE wanted to, not just for the kitties. Sigh. So, you are not alone;)
Pathetic?!? This sounds like the most fun EVER!
That is just too funny! I like what Patty said, she may be on to something! LOL!!
Happy is the key word there. So long as you have that then pathetic and boring do not apply :)
Some days there is great comfort in having something very simple to be excited about. Small children get this ("let's watch it again"), but we think we need continual new stuff when we "grow up"
Angel is on my lap right now patiently waiting until the birdie videos start up for the evening. What'd we start?
oh Lin, I love my empty nest!! I am having so much fun and I have rediscovered myself!
And you really do sound fun, well not this post, but in others. ;))))
What ever makes you happy ,Lin...that's all that matters!
Chuck--I like boring too. But not all the time.
Jerry--Hey, at least I'm not whacking the screen!
Duni--:)
Grace--I sent you the link on FB. Let me know if you like the blackbird as much as we do. And yes, you are right...the boy cats don't care about the birdies!
Diana--Oh my gosh! What is THAT???!
Patty--I'm pretty sure I was. I like my back scratched and hate my belleh to be rubbed. ;)
Vanilla--(Don't tell Grace, but I could do without 20 minutes of the birdies. About 5 is my limit. Shhhhh....)
Jackie--I worry about the time I will have, but I'm sure I will fill it. It's yet another adventure, right?
BumbleVee--I don't know those games. Are they on FB or something? Look on YouTube for the birdie videos--they are pretty calming to watch.
Nancy--Whew! I hope you weren't batting at the screen. I draw the line there too. ;)
Sparkle--Oh, we LOVE it! It's a shame that it was my Saturday night entertainment, but at least it was quality time with Grace. I think she likes that part too.
Candy--I think she's right.
Ann--Yeah, we were happy. It was a cold night and we were hanging out together--me in my pajama pants..she in her fuzzy fur....it was nice :)
Sharkey--I'm pretty good about enjoying mediocrity--which I think is important. If you wait for big stuff to enjoy, you wait a long, long time.
Beaded Tail--Oh, gees. Between you and Grace! The addiction continues. Ugh.
Debbie--Some days I look forward to it, others, not so much. I guess I don't know what to expect. I may be watching birdies more than I want to, you know?
Hot Rocks--well, I'm not sure I was all that happy...but the cat was!
I like you attitude, Lin.
Hmmmm....when Em goes off to college and you get a dozen extra cats and keep watching those bird videos we will start to worry about you too... ;)
xo Catherine
