What Not to Wear

Well, we've reached that time of year again.....

No, it's not cabin-fever time. It's not even "I'm-sick-of-the-cold-and-snow" time yet either. Nope. It's officially the "I-hate-all-the-clothes-in-my-closet" time of year. sigh.

Every morning it's the same--I stand there all sleepy-eyed in front of the closet wondering what the heck I'm gonna wear today. The cat is pacing--she is waiting for her breakfast and wishes I would just hurry it up already. But I have this dilemma, you see:

I'm tired of that sweater or those pants.  I don't like that shirt (toss it in the donate pile in the garage...) and I hate how this fits me.  I love that shirt, but I think I wear it every week....do you think the people are work are noticing?  What if I add a scarf--do you think that will spiff it up?

Those are too tight, these are too loose.  This color is "blah" and that is too chilly for the office.  Why did I buy that? And why did I wear it all those times?  Do I look like a guy in this? Hey! This is all pilly and faded. Crap.

It goes on and on.

The clock ticks until I finally just grab something....anything...to put on so I'm not going in to work naked.  Work is bad enough, we don't need to add naked people to the mix.  Criminy.

I tell my tale of woe to my office buddy and she laughs....only because she hates her clothes too.

Yup, I think hating your clothes is for sure a hard thing to face every morning. Fridays aren't bad here as we have corporate shirt Friday (and they are actually nice shirts), so you throw that on with your basic black dress pants and you are good to go. Now...if I could just do something with my hair... :)

Happy weekend friend!

Thank you. I now have a better understanding of the woman's "I have nothing to wear" statement. Closets bursting at the seams, but nothing to wear.

Woozie - you are in a state of - what would you call it - slightly discontented with everything? I know there is a word for it - I've been there all too often myself - because you know it's really not about the clothes...

I don't even have to dress up for an office and I go through this most mornings! LOL!!

Hey! a corporate work shirt? You could get something like that going.... you are HR right? .... perfect for knowing exactly what you are wearing on Friday.

Meantime...you and your office buddy should have a day out and do a bit of fun shopping. Even if it is just a new scarf or sweater or something....

No one really notices what anyone else wears. As much as we think they do.

Do you notice what the others wear? Do you?

I hate my clothes too. Mostly because I don't understand why they keep shrinking. Not good. No way.

I know the feeling. I don't know if there is one thing in my closet or drawers that I actually like.

This is a delight that I have discovered about running my own business from home. I can wear my fleece pyjamas all day and nobody cares. Wheeeeee! I used to have the closet-blues. Now, I'm just cozy all day. :)

My biggest decision on getting dressed for work is which color fuzzy socks to wear! Oh the benefits of working from home! :)

What Patty said. Nobody notices. But, man, you nailed this. I guess we all go through the same closet insanity too! And I also have the cat dance at my feet while I try. It's like they're saying "Hurry up, lady. Get dressed, get out, we have napping to do."

p.s. I'm waiting for Daisy the Curly Cat to show up and tell us how to approach our closets the right way, fashionista that she is.

I think this IS a symptom of cabin fever. I know because I have it.

Oh yes, that hit me about 2 weeks ago. I ended up donating a lot of clothes, LOL.

WEll that hating of clothes is pretty universal, I hate to tell you. But thank COD you aren't going to work naked but on the other hand, it would make a terrific post on the blog. LOL. Have a great Sunday

My Mommeh got the idea that she might like to wear a lightweight scarf. So she went crazy and bought about a dozen of them!

Ugh, yea. That's why most days I just wear "cozy clothes". The benefits of rarely having to leave the house.

See, I don't understand this. I wear the same clothes for decades until they wear out. I don't seem to care.
