So, "How are your frogs?" you ask.....
Gees, with all the excitement this summer, I almost forgot to give a taddie update.
I am happy to report that all 3 taddies are officially frogs. Okay, so they are still wee things--but they are frogs just the same. Sometimes you see them grow legs and arms. Sometimes they just appear as itty bitty frogs--surprising me as a little frog face smiling at me from the shallows.
There is no happy as that as finding a new frog in the pond. Most times the only way to see them is to go out after dark with the flashlight to find them. Okay, so the neighbors think I'm a kook--look who's judgin', right? At least I'm a happy kook.
I also have a big female frog who lives in the upper pool of the waterfall. She sits in there, hiding amongst the hosta leaves--hoping against hope that we won't see her. I don't know why she stays, but she does--and that makes me happy.
It's hard to believe that in a month or so, we will be readying the pond for winter. It will be fun to watch these babies fatten up on end-of-summer bumblebees and dragonflies.
