Bwwahhhaaaaa!

"They're gone.  All gone.  Everyone's gone.... gone....gone!  Well....everyone that dares to pet me, talk to me and bother me in general."

Both kids left this weekend.  It's quiet again.

And clean.

The laundry basket is nearly empty.  But so are the rooms...the fridge...and my wallet.

I was sad to see them leave, but I will admit to enjoying the silence a bit.  And the cats...well....they are happy to claim their napping time alone again.  Seems all that lovin' made them both a tad bit cranky.

Commence normalcy.

Glad to see you enjoying your empty nest. That is a good sign. Have a great day.

Great catch on that photo! I'm glad you are liking the quiet spaces.

Great photo...Having no experience in these matters, I wonder if children eventually are perceived as house guests.

And you wondered how you would live without them....

It's nice to see them come but somehow nice to see them leave too. ;)

Oh wonderful, beautiful Hobbes, you have perfectly captured my mood for today. No way I could have expressed it with such style and dignity.

It does seem silent when the offspring have fled for other parts.

I never had kids ... so nothing to compare it with in that respect, I guess.... all I know is...I love me some peace and quiet...kids wouldn't have fit my lifestyle, ...ever...

"normalcy' without your kids? Why, i'd say you are adjusting to being an empty nester quite nicely. LOL

Time to curl up with a book and pull out those cookies that you had hidden.... *wink*

Hobbes made me yawn! Glad you're enjoying occasional empty nest time and of course we can't wait for the latest Joe story!

and to think it wasn't that long ago that the full house was what normalcy was.

Marg--I miss the kids, but I don't miss the mess! It's nice to have things stay the way you left it...CLEAN!

Sharkey--I miss the kids a lot and I'm sorta bored, but I do like that the house stays clean. :)

Grace--Yeah, they sort of are now. The longer they are gone, the more it doesn't feel like home to them. That's okay to me...it's normal.

Patty--No kidding! I still miss them, but now I like having a clean house and not so much laundry.

Candy--Amen, sister.

Chuck--I like them home, but I like it when the dirty laundry goes back with them.

BumbleVee--I think you slowly acclimate to having kids. We've really enjoyed raising them and I miss them now, but it's nice to go back and revisit your life before them too. It's a nice mix.

Diane--Well, "normal" as in smaller laundry piles, healthy food in the fridge and more money in my wallet. :) I sorta like that part.

Alice marie--Yeah! I want to be able to go to the gym and do the things I want to do again.

Beaded Tail--Joe is very boring these days. Too boring. In fact, he got in trouble for not wanting to do anything. We have to change that now that the kids are gone again.

Jerry--I wouldn't know. I'm just pretending that we are normal folks.

Ann--I sort of miss that activity, but I like the house to stay clean and for the laundry to be done longer than 3 minutes. I like that part of having an empty nest.

I'd be happy with most of the empty things, but not the wallet. I get paranoid when that happens.
