Independence Day

We are bailing on the traditional celebrations of Independence Day and heading to the quiet sounds of this good green earth.  After a few months of craziness, we have decided to escape the city and just regroup, just the 3 of us--independent of everything that is our lives lately.

I think it is good to disconnect every once in awhile and that is what I love most about camping, the total temporary distance of all electronics, telephones and connections to your everyday life.   In a few weeks, we will be taking some time to do a longer version of today, and it is my aim to see if I can walk away from the computer for that entire week.  Whether we admit it or not, there is a wee umbilical cord to this damn computer, and I hope to survive without it.  We'll see.

So, on this trial day, I wish you all a very happy Independence Day of your own.

Hope you make it! After some panic, I did enjoy being totally disconnected while out of range on the cruise. Happy 4th to all of you!

Enjoy. Hope you allowed yourself the modern conveniences of vodka, ice and a cocktail shaker.

That's a great idea to leave the technology and the rat-race of the daily routine behind for a while. Happy fourth.

You will be just fine without it!

I am proof that the umbilical cord is hard to sever. Then again it's raining, so I am passing idol time.

Happy Camping!

How nice! I need a getaway desperately but we have to put any vacation plans on hold until Josh finishes his final exam. This is THE exam which will determine whether he would be considered for a scholarship or not for the American transfer program he has submitted.
